Product Description
Traces Maya astronomy back to Atlantis

• Shows that the Mayan Calendar was brought to Mexico by survivors of Atlantis

• Correlates scientific studies with the Mayan Calendar to reveal that 2012 could be the start of a new ice age

• Reveals the link between Atlantis and Lemuria discovered by Edgar Cayce

Based on more than 25 years of research around the globe and statements from Edgar Cayce about Atlantis and its Pacific sister civilization of Lemuria, Frank Joseph reveals that the Mayan Calendar was brought to Mexico by survivors of Atlantis. Uncovering the Atlantean influences in both ancient Mesoamerican culture and ancient Egyptian culture, he links the demise of Atlantis with the birth of the Olmec civilization in Mexico (the progenitors of the Maya), the beginning of the first Egyptian dynasty, and the start of the Mayan Calendar.

Joseph explains that the Mayan Calendar was invented by the combined genius of Atlantis and Lemuria and describes how it predicts an eternal cycle of global creation, destruction, and renewal. Correlating this recurring cycle with scientific studies on glacial ice cores and predictions from the Hopi, the Incas, and the Scandinavian Norse, Joseph reveals that 2012 could be the start of a new ice age and the advent of a massive solar storm. However, Joseph shows that the Maya knew the way to reestablish civilization’s cosmic balance before time runs out.

5 out of 5 stars Best book on 2012 so far...   April 7, 2010

This is the best book I have read on the subject of 2012. Well researched, makes the whole subject of 2012 relevant in history and in today's terms. I have always been fascinated by the legend of Atlantis and this book takes one more step towards the argument for Atlantis and its relevance today. The Mayan connection is fascinating and also rings true to what is happening in the world today in my opinion. Well worth the time to read and discuss...

Atlantis and 2012: The Science of the Lost Civilization and the Prophecies of the Maya is based on over 25 years of research around the world and statements by Edgar Cayce about Atlantis and Lemuria, and shows how the Mayan calendar was actually brought to Mexico by survivors of Atlantis. Chapters explain how it was invented, how it predicts cycles of global creation and renewal, and coincides the calendar with scientific studies. New age libraries will relish the unusually concrete approach!

A VERY WELL WRITTEN BOOK. IT TIES TOGETHER A LOT OF LOOSE ENDS CONCERNING 2012 AND IT'S POSSIBILITIES.

The author has definitely done his homework. Have you noticed how cold this past spring has been? Could global warming become another Ice Age? I guess we'll find out, won't we?

There are many books written prophesying the forthcoming 2012, the changes that will happen, and what to expect. However, each author has his own concept and prophecy considering it his or her own truth. Frank Joseph takes the research further and explains that the Mayan Calendar was originally invented by the peoples of the lost continents of Atlantis and Lemuria and the calendar was actually brought to Mexico by the survivors of Atlantis. Much of his research comes from Edgar Cayce but also includes Egyptian and Greek history, works of Plato, and scientific studies and predictions from the Hopi, the Incas, and the Scandinavian Norse.

"Atlantis and 2012" was a slow read for me. I found the information very compelling and easy to understand but there is so much background and research it took me many sittings to digest all that Joseph was saying. His knowledge of Atlantis supersedes anyone else that has done research or writing. It is concise and informative as well as direct and scientific.

Personally I'm not sure what to think of what will happen at the end of 2012. The presentation by Joseph in "Atlantis and 2012" gave me another thought to conceptualize and contemplate. I believe his research is valid and commend him on putting his 25-plus years of investigation and study into a publication for us to consider. For some the shift may be traumatic or dramatic, others may not notice at all. For some it may be enlightenment, for others it may digression. We do not know until the actual date will pass. I encourage you to read this book and decide for yourself.
